I have a piece that needs "cooler", more ash tones. I am a #4Ash but I received a "natural" #4, which has some gold/blonde tones to it. My question is, what is the best way to put more ash tones in this hair? Should I just color it with a #4ash store bought hair color, or is there a better/easier way?

My main concerns is that I have heard that hairpieces take color very quickly and can sometimes go darker than what you're aiming for. Does that mean I should use a #5ash instead? I don't want it to go darker than a #4.

Any advice about getting the tone correct is greatly appreciated.
