skin damage - andrei_eremenko - 04-12-2011

I've read somewhere that because of glues and tapes some people had the skin damaged after they've worn hair for several years...it is that true?

First I ever heard of it...guess it`s down to regular cleaning/hygiene etc...... I`m wearing 15 yrs or so and the only time I had any skin problems was when wearing an all-poly system courtesy of a `Salon`/club and the thing was left stuck on for 3 weeks or more.....not too clever. Paul.

I wouldn't be surprised if some portion of people had non permanent skin damage after long term usage. But I also think that would be a small percentage of people and most likely related to hygiene and skin irritation from long term wear and adhesive removal. I have only been wearing for 4 months now, and the only irritation I have is from when I had problem getting the ghost bond off of a couple areas and really had to scrub at it. That was fixed by finally finding a good adhesive remover that took it off super easily. Can't speak to usage over years though of course

what adhesive remover do you use?

Its going to sound funny, but was recommended by the girl that does my bond and de bond. I use de-solv-it. Its 100% organic and biodegradable, and safe to use on skin and hair. Gets adhesive off very easily....

I thought pretty much everyone knew to use desolvit for clean up?

I didn't read it anywhere before she told me. I always read to use 'Pure'.

There are many products besides `pure`..the citrus-based ones are particularly good. Another citrus-based one is ``remove``..excellent product. Paul.
