Hey Count,
That's a great look at you on your website. If you're wearing a piece in that video, then it's the best piece I've ever seen. You seem like you're very good at your work too.

I hate to admit this .. but in the current videos
you can find on the web ...
It is just all concealers .. Prothik ... Toppick ...
And everyone who came to the Convention
saw me pre-hairpiece ... wearing the concealers ..
My next batch of vids we do will be wearing a piece ..
(and there are photos of my new piece on both forums)
You can create an amazing illusion with concealers ..
If ..
-You have some hair remaining for the stuff to attach to ..
-If the manufacturer's colors were on that month
-If you had co-operative hair that day
Unfortunately .. I don't know if it was due to a bad
batch of Prothik .. but something in the formulation
that month had an effect on my scalp .. hence Toplace

Hello Count. I want to say how much I appreciate your willingness to post your first time wearing experience, along with pictures. I have been very impressed with the results of your new hair.
As a person using concealers (more and more all the time) I have come to the realization that one of these days I will need to go the next step and begin wearing pieces. Right now, I don't believe anyone has a clue that I am using concealers. My plan will be to not get to the point where it is noticeable in anyway and start wearing hair.
My question to you is, how did you do the template with hair. Did you do the template yourself? I have purchased Michigan Baldy's DVDs and plan to do the template myself, but I wondering how to compensate for the hair that I have (which is enough to get in the way of a sound template). I would be interested in your experience on this.

They're invaluable tools as most people on
this forum will admit ...
Each day as I learn more, what MB's doing
doing in those vids .. it starts to gel in my head.
If you search the old posts, you'll see my feelings,
having grown up in a mob-run neighborhood,
about doing it myself and putting saran over my
head. When the 'mob guys' gift-wrapped you
like that .... it meant you were on a one-way
trip out to the 'Big Enchilada' in the sky ...
I called two toplace stylists (Erin in Bayonne NJ
and Di Di in New York City) .. and if there
wasn't a stylist available ...
I would have certainly made the trip ...

She measured my head (washed out the
concealers first). When you think, you
might have to wait two months (and change)
for the piece to be made and shipped from
a 3rd world country, you are also
laying out $200-300. bucks, and you want
that piece to look good .... well .. I just
rationalized .. some of these guys on this
forum have in the past, mortgaged their
house and spent upwards of $12-20 grand
a year with the Hair clubs ...
What's few bucks and travel to avoid any
mistakes ... to me .. it's worth the trip ...
(and you only have to be measured once).
I love Michigan Baldy's DVDs .. but .. I'm
not a kind of a Home Depot, 'Fix-It-Yourself'
type of guy ....

on some excellent training stuff for her
hair clients which she is going to
put on her website in the near future ..
If you look really closely ... I might be
one of the volunteers she's using ...
I believe it is going to be a very valuable
resource. She's got 18 years experience,
the old-world Bulgarian craftsmanship and
pride in her work ... and 10 years tutelege
under Vidal Sasson and then Farrell.
It's rumoured she left Farrell, because she
wasn't satisfied being one of his
'cookie-cutter' hairstylists.

On a second thought ... it's very reassuring
to know that you can always send a piece to
Debbie in Maine and for a very very moderate
fee ... get an excellent cut that rivals the New
York / LA Salons.
(And if you need a 'Ventilator' (sounds like Arnold
Swartzennegger's arch villian, you can send it to
Debbie's Mother. Toplace has the pieces, the prices
and the support.
BTW. I have no interest or stock in Toplace !

So your a hypnotist. Very interesting. Let me ask you a question, do you believe hypnosis is more about suggestion rather then unlocking things in the brain, or can it be either or, or a combination of both.. I mean I realize hypnosis can be as real as making someone quit cigarettes, to the fake tv shows you see where people are running around with their pants down mimicking a parot.

Hypnosis is just a 'label' for a normal
natural, trance-state we go in-and-out of all day.
We go into different trance states all day ...
Sadness, Being Angry ... Even Happiness
Hypnosis is when you let that analytical part
of your mind go-out-to-lunch ... and you let
the imagination and emotions well up
(eg. Being in the zone, eurphoria during sex,
prayer, meditation, fixing your piece .. well ..
not me .. the pros on here)
Hypnosis is not such a special state .. it's
what we 'do there' when we enter the state ..
to create the change ... whether is suggestion,
visualization ... changing perceptions ..
Fact is, your mind doesn't know the difference
between what is 'real' and what is not ...
So we say, "If you don't like the feelings
associated to memories in your mind ..
hallucinate a new reality" .. heck .. you made
up the first feeling in the first place and they're
not productive !
Many of the Hair Club for Men members
have hypnotized themselves into believing
their pieces are 'really fooling someone.'
During their last HCM Info-mercial, I sat
back in horror looking at HCM's work ... and
listening to the models tell how 'natural' they look.
A blind duck could tell they were wearing a piece ! :0
If you want to see real hypnosis in action ... Go
to BA's convention next year and watch BA when
he's got those 'no-holds-barred' fight matches
on the tube.
Now ... that's a REAL HYPNOTIC TRANCE !
