Re: Ask BA. - vcanfield - 11-16-2008

I need to order for my husband. He ordered last time and that was a mistake. I have nothing against these last units, I just think my husband's hair is too dark for this particular base. The "skin" part is white and thicker then the other kind I ordered a few years ago. And the injection is so uniform you can see the rows of hair in angled lines . It kind of looks like my leg hair stubble (in rows of course) when I have not shaved- what a lovely picture that brings to mind.

Someone mentioned the older unit is single injected hairs and the newer ones are knotted. We usually order about three at a time and I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of units I am not happy with. Here are some pictures of the two units. I have always ordered PSBs and that is what I told him to order, but these were not the same. I don't know what he ended up ordering. We still have two I refuse to let have cut in so I promised I would get him some of the old style ones.

So, just what are the older units so I can order them?

Thanks,

Looks great BA!

Can one order with highlights put in or is that something that has to be done by ourself?

I've been reading the posts here for the past week and have found them very useful to us newbies!
Perhaps the best online forum that addresses hair replacement questions.
BA, thanks for being so helpful to all of us.
I have never worn a piece,
My problem area is my receding hairline. I need 1 inch wide from temple to temple.
My forehead is getting large and people think I look angry.
Does it make sense to order only the front part (swiss lace I guess) that I can use liquid adhesive to keep it secure?
OR
Shave the top of my head and get a piece like most of the ones I have seen here in the pictures?
Thanks,
Jim

Several folks have done this, I think it can be a little more difficult to blend but if you have good hair it's workable. Some have also used a sort of "triangle" shaped system, who have recession & thinning but still have good crown hair.

Re: Ask BA. - CB1 - 12-21-2008

Wow, there's a major difference between the last two photos that Veronica posted... why do they look different? Are they both thin skin? The last one is super scary. I have dark hair and am contemplating getting a thin skin base but definitely don't want it to look like the last photo she posted. How can that be avoided?
