Why do you want to thin it out ?
If you're having trouble applying it, then you obviously don't have MB's DVD.

If it's just the end of the bottle that is too thick to brush on, I would get a new bottle and use the old stuff for touchups. It might be too thick to brush on, but it can be "smeared". I wouldn't want to do a full attachment like this, but it works great for a tough-as-steel touchup.
