Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - tof - 02-16-2010 I'm a new customer and been browsing the forum... didn't see this tip so thought I'd pass it along. I still have quite a bit of my own hair and the adehesive gunk from the tape (or glue) always was so annoying to get out of my hair and completely off my scalp. Until I discovered... I spray on an adhesive remover and use a credit card type object to scrape it off. This works better than anything else I've tried! It is also great for removing all that dead gunk off your head after wearing for an extended time. Hope this helps! Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - tof - 02-21-2010 Ok... It may be nonsense to some... but I'm just sharing what saves me a lot of time. Rather than scrubbing/spraying/scrubbing/etc., this step instantly removes all the adhesive from my head/hair so I can shave it easier (I use a foil/electric). It takes me about 20 minutes to do a complete removal/cleanup/shave/reattachment. When I first started, took me hours. I dont actually use a credit card by the way. An old club membership card or whatever works fine. Sorry to have offended anyone!? Just trying to share what has worked for me to save time. May darn well not bother again though! lol Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - emery - 02-22-2010 very interesting - i also use a credit card and i think it is a really smart idea! one thing to note: no matter how much the manufacturer say adhesive-remover is safe - you have to make your own judgement here and not just take their words for it... i would say try to use these chemical as little as possible... Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - knockahoma - 02-22-2010 Hey Tof. That's the spirit! Thanks for thinking of others and sharing what works for ya. Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - MattP51 - 03-02-2010 Should I use Visa or M/C? Is either one better than the other? Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - tunners - 03-02-2010 yeah tried this, it didn't work for me personally but I reckon it does for other people. I think because my skin really broke the glue down it couldnt be taken off by a credit card but people should give it a go. If you think something might not work for you thats fine but dont say its nonsense, people are trying to help others and they should be thanked not criticised, the people who do criticise are most likely the ones who dont talk personally to people helping them through email etc and just take advice and dont give Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - tof - 03-02-2010 True... nothing works for everyone. Though I could have been more clear maybe. I've found that if i spray a decent amount of the adhesive remover - aka lace release - on the glue, let it sit for a few minutes, then use the edge of the card (any credit-cardish object) to gently scrape the glue out of the stubble/scalp, it works well for me. Cheers! Re: Tip: Easily remove glue from scalp/hair - deano59 - 03-09-2010 I have never tried a credit card but I find a lice comb provides excellent results. I start by spraying C22 solvent and then put a few drops of exfoliating shampoo on top of the C22. I then scrap excess glue out with a lice comb. This method takes me five minutes and then I rince my hair 3 times with exfoliating shampoo and then a specialist shampoo. It works a treat. Hopes this helps. Best Wishes Deano59 |
