Color: A Dead Giveaway - hairypalm - 11-08-2008 I was walking from the El to my office this morning and saw a guy who was obviously wearing. I sort of asked myself why it was so obvious so quickly. It occurred to me that the dead giveaway was the color. The color just didn't look natural. And since not many guys with a nice full head of hair color their hair, it makes you take a second look and you notice that it's a HP. It wasn't like it was highlighted or dyed a funky color that you might just dismiss as someone having fun with their hair. It was a solid, unnatural brown with hints of auburn. And as I got really close, the color didn't match his natural color on the side. So it seems to me that for all the talk of natural hairlines and getting the right density, bad color can betray you just as quickly. Just my observations. Still waiting for my first piece to arrive. Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - thecount - 11-12-2008 I agree with you .... And on the other hand ... when you take it to the extreme ... blonde highlights in brown hair ... Ya get ... "Naw ... no one would do something that unnatural if it wasn't their natural hair ..." The last 2 times I went to a stylist ... I had her dye my side hair as well as the piece ... so the color ages and changes at the same time ... Previously I found the dark color of the piece would fade to a lighter shade of brown and there would be a clear distinction between where my hair and the piece began. Ya gotta hand it to those old timers who JUST don't give a darn as long as their dome is covered/ They've got this straight dark brown piece plopped upon curly, heavily greying side hair that even a myopic grazing cow at 15000 feet can spot ! Is that Tony Curtis? That's got to be a joke! Man, I love Tony Curtis. Why Tony Curtis? "Over here lies da castle of my faddah, fuhgeddaboutit!" Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - Mr.Burns - 11-14-2008 I recommend Pureology for keeping the colour!! After nearly 5 months my system still looks great and blends fine! That's pretty amazing... That's pretty amazing... Mr. Burn's, I have been hearing people rave about Pureology for quite some time and would have to say 5 months without fading is pretty amazing. What type of Pureology are you using? Judging from the way my systems are holding up, I doubt I would have any hair left after 5 months  Are you doing anything else that might contibute to the long life you are getting i.e. using shower filter, satin pillow case, sunscreen in your styling products etc. I would be more then willing to change my routine to get that kind of life out of my hairpieces. I am wearing SFS maybe that is playing a role as well. What type of base are you using? Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - thecount - 11-14-2008 I think that is Tony Curtis ... He certainly got pretty outrageous in his senior years ... with hairpieces .. as you can see ... as thick and as unreal ... as two mating skunks perched having a go at it ..... Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - collegedan - 07-24-2009 What's pureology and how does it prevent fading? Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - Xeon005 - 07-24-2009 I bet his hair was dry too. using product I think really helps with the color blending. Re: Color: A Dead Giveaway - danger!!89 - 07-24-2009 This sucks i dont want to have to deal with colour fading lol. Around when do you guys start experiencing colour fade in a hair piece. I'm hoping pieces with the colour 1B (black) don't fade that easily |
