Sunscreen for our hair a good idea?
I live in a sunny, tropical climate, and the sun really faded the color out of my last unit. Do any of you have experience with using a sort of "sunscreen" to protect the hair from UVA/UVB damage in order to keep its color and prolong its lifespan?

Doing a quick Google search actually came up with some products for that exact purpose, but would they be any good for our purposes? Have any of you used any products like this?

Paul Mitchell products [ well the ` waxworks` styling product] has been given the thumbs-up on here before,so I guess the one on your link would probably be good.... I think though, that living where you do, even the very best product/s will not entirely prevent colour-fade... having said that, it /they will certainly help...is it possible to just pop on a light baseball-cap, loosely, when out and about? I know that`s not always possible/practical though....even where I live, when we get the sun, if I`m working outside I`ll always pop on a such a cap......even growing hair is faded by the sun, but it grows out in time, in it`s normal colour...systems are sitting ducks when it comes to the sun. You can of course re-colour your hair, but it`s better to minimise prolonged sun-exposure as much as possible... I use a daily leave-in conditioner which has sunscreen in it..you can Google it -- `` PPI Enhance``--- I find it to be an excellent product...a few wearers have told me by e mail lately that they too find it to be very good..... obviously it too would have it`s limitations in terms of the sun being so ` strong` where you are, but it`s a great conditioner, and very reasonably-priced. By all means, use whatever sun-screen or product containing sunscreen which appeals to you.... colour-fade is one of the usual issues we face, especially in summer time. Regards.
P.S. this is the link to the makers of ` Enhance` [ Premier products Inc.,] ...there are other product-sellers who carry/sell it, if you`re interested in ordering it....the Google search will show you those, but this is the product-maker`s site: http://www.ppi.cc/conditioners_hair_replace.htm

I've seen the suggestion before of mixing high factor body sunscreen in with your usual hair product and apparently that works also.
