Could Use Some Suggestions on Hairstyle for Full Cap (photos)
I have been sitting on the fence for a while and am ready to take the plunge. I am going with a full cap and am curious about specs. I have been looking for months for a hair style I think I can get away with. I'm 38 but people tell me I like younger (of course, I never take my ball cap off) Here is the style I like. I like how the hair is short but also sort of long. I like how it covers the back. When I do my template I want a slight widow's peak. I'll be shaving my entire head and plan on wearing the piece for about 5-6 days at a time. So, I am curious if anyone could tell by looking at the pics what the specs would be.Can anyone think of any reason why this style would not work? I was thinking about showing some scalp at the crown. Any advice would be helpful. Many thanks again!

Sorry, can't figure out how to upload pics with the new forum. Links to photo's are below

Hi Marc,
Congratulations on taking the plunge! You won't regret it! We can do any style. A couple of comments about that style. First, it has a non-graduated hair line. We have some young guys that pull this off really well. See Colin with his 'before' and 'after' photos on our home page---he wears a hair system with a non-graduated hair line. Also, the pictures of Jared do not have any temple recession. Some guys have no temple recession regardless of age. A great example of that is Bill Clinton. But here's where the artistry of designing a hair system comes in. You need to design a hair line that is natural and fits/enhances the shape of your head and your features. I think a widow's peak it a good idea if it works for you---it adds a touch of realism. And all or our units come with a crown where you can see some scalp unless a customer specifies 'no crown.' It's another nice touch of realism. The photos of Jared show a heavy density. That density is about 75-80%. You could achieve that look easily with either a Super Fine Swiss lace base or a French lace base.

John

That style will be super easy to pull off with a full cap.

I would start with 70% density and increase it on subsequent orders if it isn't thick enough for you. I definitely wouldn't go above 70% on the sides, as full caps can get a little too "bushy" in that area with a thicker density.

Also, whatever base you order, make sure that you get french lace or at least a double layer of swiss lace in the sideburn area and right above the ears. A single layer of swiss tends to fray badly from the wear and tear of attachments.

Thanks John and JRob! The two I plan on pestering til I get my Toplace (LOL) I have to get a new camera but once I do I will take some pictures.Hope either of you won't mind me asking some questions. I am researching and going back reading old posts to make myself an expert. Yeah, I thought about a lower density and building up. Right now I am trying to figure out my hairline.I'm going through pictures of me when I was younger to get an idea of how to make a realistic hairline. I really do like this hairstyle,I just want to make it a bot more of my own. Thanks again to you both.

Marc,
Don't forget that you can always do a private webcam consultation with Debbie and get her expert opinion. The cost is $59 but you'll get a 15% discount off your first order. Sometimes getting an opinion from another person can be very helpful.

John

Marc,

That style will look fantastic. A professional, texturized cut and some styling product and you will be ecstatic.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Thanks you both. Yes, I have already agreed to have Debbie consult via web cam. I think the price is well worth it. I live in Connecticut and Debbie is not that far from me. I may have her do my cut in as well. Thanks again to you both for your help and support!
