Just discovered this forum a couple a months ago, read/watched everything I possibly could. I think I'm ready to dive into the world of hair systems. I've attached pictures of what my head/hair looks like:

It should skip to 7:40 immediately so you get the idea of what I want.


Now onto the questions:

Should I cut to the blue line or the red line on the back of head. I'm thinning below the blue but with that hairstyle, I don't think it would be apparent.


My question is should I go to a barber first, allow them to taper the back/sides and then go to a hairdresser that can attach/cut in OR should I attach the piece myself and just go to a salon. I'm a bit afraid of simply attaching and going to the salon/barber because this video implicates that barbers and salons will f up your piece:

I get the feeling that most hairdressers (or the ones I've seen) don't have too much experience being able to taper correctly so that's why I'm afraid to allow them to do that. My thinning has also been covered up pretty decently with toppik and I'm leaving out of state for 4 months to a place nobody knows me so I think I could adopt a completely new look without anyone saying anything.
