Looks great and I would agree that you should lower the front a little.

Congrats and I think it looks great. You will settle in with it and before long, it will all become second nature to you. You may work on getting it lower on the forehead. I also didn't have a good experience with my first cut-in so I can understand your frustration. Look forward to hearing more from you.
