Good leave-in conditioner? - rashton83 - 02-20-2013

Need to find a good one I can actually but locally (Sally, Ulta, CVS, etc).

Must be water based with no oils to spoil bond.

Not using Enhance anymore since I suspect it might be contributing to the green tint of my unit. Can't be sure, but I don't want to take any chances

I use kerasilk leave in conditioner, works well.

Thanks, water based?

RE: Good leave-in conditioner? - Hersute - 02-21-2013

I use Johnson's 'No More Tears' baby spray 'No more Tangles' conditioner.
No oils mentioned in the ingredient list.
It uses glycerin instead.

Sadly no sunscreen though.
Available from most places and inexpensive.

Hersute - Is this the one you use?

Hersute... I add a few drops of SPF lotion to my spray in bottle and shake well to dissolve. Seems to work well.

Wicky, BRILLIANT idea! Thank you.

Hairenough, Yes thats the one I use most, but recently I inadvertently picked one of the shelf that looks exactly the same, but says its a conditioner too.

I can't say I've noticed a difference between the two.

The branding and packaging also differs between US and the UK.

Thanks Hersute! I will order some today and give it a try. I haven't used a leave-in or any kind of conditioner for years for fear of it affecting my bond but I'll give it a try and see if it prolongs the life of the hair.

Before I stopped Enhance/Nearly Natural Mist due to fears of discoloring (possibly not an issue, but not willing to take that risk until I get my color sorted), I used a ton of it and it never seemed to affect the bond. Since they're silicon based and not oil, it's not much different than water.
