Darker hair to lighter hair? - JDHair - 01-06-2009

I recently purchased Loreal Nice and Easy coloring kit because I saw it was used by others on the forum but I am trying to lighten my hair and not darken it. The color isnt that far off but enough for someone to ask me if I darkened my hair. I guess thats better then saying do you wear a rug. Can I use this product to lighten my hair without ruining anything?
Thank you

lightening the hair is tricky at best! (darkening is easy)
you would be better off to put in a few subtle highlights to give an appearance of lighter hair rather than try to lighten the whole piece...........you could come up with an orangy shade if not careful.

How good of condition is the hair?

I bleached two full caps where the hair was fairly weak to begin with, and the bleaching seemed to weaken it even more. I would be very careful using any kind of chemicals on hair that seems fragile.

One thing my stylist recommended was to use shampoo about 50/50 with the bleach to act as a buffer to minimize damage.
